“Be soft. Do not let the world make you hard. Do not let pain make you hate. Do not let the bitterness steal your sweetness. Take pride that even though the rest of the world may disagree, you still believe it to be a beautiful place.”
With all of the technology and holiday grit, the gridlock traffic and the sugar head aches, do we harden up? With all of the sad global news and arguments with our family, does our empathy crumble and our ego shine? What if through all the mael storm and screaming we saw the light, the softness, the ripe underbelly of life itself?
The universe has a soft spot and it is you - your skin, your eye lashes, and the words you keep locked in your heart. You yourself are the universe in action, you are a branch of the infinite. The biggest danger to us all is the quiet inaction and bitter resentments that pave the road to apathy. In the deepest meditation it isn't an indifference to the world but the complete acceptance of it, in this moment. It is to be reawoken to the softest states of our childhood when bliss happened easily.
Take a moment to pause, to separate your teeth and relax your jaw. Hold here and breathe softly. The breathe is the easiest way to tap into ourselves- when it softens, we soften along with it.
Sending love to you all, Kyle & I are off to our West Coast adventures <3
